How much does HobbySpace cost to use?
Nothing! HobbySpace is 100% free to use for everyone, clubs, activities and individuals!

How do I join HobbySpace?
It’s simple and easy to join. Go to www.HobbySpace.co.uk and click on “sign up now”

What is the distance search feature and how does it work?
The distance search feature allows you sort the clubs that you are searching for by distance from you starting with the closest first. You have to be a HobbySpace member to automatically use this feature. When you sign up you are asked for your postcode for this sole purpose.

When you search for an activity simply click on sort by: name / distance and the clubs closest to you will be shown at the topof the list

What if my club or activity I am searching for isn’t listed?
If your club isn’t listed on HobbySpace then you can register yourself and create your MiniSite – its easy, free and only takes a couple of minutes.

Why should I register my club?
There are many advantages to registering on HobbySpace!

  1. The HobbySpace MiniSite is a fantastic way to promote your club and its activities for free. The unique way the site is set up means that once you register your club will be listed on search engines such as Google. This makes it easier for people to find you and so attract new members. 

  2. Keep in touch with members easily with bulletins, forums and calendar of events

  3. Club locations shown on Google Maps

  4. Affiliate and keep in touch with other sister clubs, clubs in your league or the facilities that you train with!

  5. Maintain club relations allowing members to add photos and videos to the club pages

  6. Promote your own website!


How do I register my club and create the MiniSite?
It’s easy. To register your club or activity your must first be a member of HobbySpace. Simply login to HobbySpace and you will be taken to your homepage. Click on the register your club/ facility/ organisation button. You will be taken to the club signup pages where you choose you club type and name and HobbySpace URL.

What is the HobbySpace URL?
When you register a club or you will be asked to choose your unique URL e.g. www.hobbyspace.co.uk/salefc which takes you straight to your clubs MiniSite. You can use this URL on any promotional materials that you produce such as letters, posters and flyers.

What is the role of the club Secretary?
When you register a club and create a HobbySpace MiniSite you automatically become the owner and secretary of the club. This means you have moderator rights to your MiniSite and access to the “Club Management” section.
-You will be able to moderate the forums, photos and videos that are added to your club by the members.
-Change the club settings such as logo, contact details and address.
-Create events and bulletins to inform all members about the latest news.
-Add additional locations to your MiniSite for display on Google Maps.

Can I change the Secretary of the club?
Yes! If you want to have a different club secretary that’s no problem. You can change the club secretary to anyone who is a member of your club MiniSite on HobbySpace.

Simply find out the members HobbySpace ID (You can find the HobbySpace user ID on the member profile page, as the first entry within the Personal Information section) then got to the club management section, click on “Change the Club Secretary” and enter the new secretary’s user ID in the box.

Can someone else help out with moderating my HobbySpace MiniSite?
Yes! If you want someone to help moderate your MiniSite that’s no problem. You can add anyone who is a member of your club MiniSite on HobbySpace as an extra moderator. The moderator will have the same moderation rights and access as the MiniSite secretary/owner.

Simply find out the members HobbySpace ID (You can find the HobbySpace user ID on the member profile page, as the first entry within the Personal Information section) then got to the club management section, click on “Nominate a Club Moderator” and enter the new moderators user ID in the box.

What if my club already has a website?
No problem! You can use HobbySpace to directly link to your website! HobbySpace makes it easy for people to find the clubs or activities that they want to get involved with. By putting your club on HobbySpace we are making it easy for people to find your club and find direct contact information to you.

How do I add videos?
When you login to HobbySpace you will be taken to your homepage. Go to the “My HobbySpace” section and click on “Manage My Videos”.

You will first be asked to create a folder to place your videos. Give the folder a name and upload an image (if you don’t have an image the HobbySpace kite will be shown).

Open the folder that you have just created then click on “add new video” link and follow the instructions. You can upload a video straight to your profile or you can embed a video from video sharing sites such as YouTube and Google Video for you friends on HobbySpace to view.

How do I add photos?
When you login to HobbySpace you will be taken to your homepage. Go to the “My HobbySpace” section and click on “Manage My Photos”.

You will first be asked to create an album to place your photos. Give the album a name and upload an image (if you don’t have an image the HobbySpace kite will be shown).

Open the album that you have just created then click on “add new photo” link and follow the instructions. You can upload up to 5 photos at a time straight to your profile. For your HobbySpace friends to view
